The Arkansas Black Hall of Fame


Six outstanding native Arkansans were honored for their remarkable professional and civic achievements.

They were:
– Derek Fisher – Five-time NBA champion and point guard for the LA Lakers from Little Rock.
– Joseph “Joe” Jackson – Patriarch and manager of The Jackson 5 from Fountain Hill
– Abraham Carpenter, Sr. and family – Agricultural entrepreneurs of Pine Bluff
– Dr. Robert L. Williams – Educator and author from Little Rock
– Kathryn Hall-Trujillo, M.P.H. – Maternal and child health expert of Moscow
– Leo “Jocko” Louis Carter (posthumous) – Urban radio pioneer of Little Rock.
